CARGOMETER wins the Oscar for intralogistics
IFOY Award Night at the Vienna Hofburg
It was the moment we had all been waiting for: on 26 April, this year’s IFOY Awards ceremony took place at the Vienna Hofburg to present the world’s most prestigious awards for intralogistics. More than 600 invited guests and numerous speakers, including German Transport Minister Andreas Scheuer, eagerly waited for the winners to be announced. To the great delight of local guests, Vienna-based CARGOMETER took home the coveted trophy in the top category of “Intralogistics Software”.

The jury’s decision was based not only on the high market relevance of the brand-new intralogistics solution, but also on the significant customer benefit gained through precise calculation of cargo rates and the opportunity to optimise the use of space in the truck. Optimising the cargo network also contributes to sustainable business. “Correct tariff classification after measurement of the freight can increase revenue by up to five percent. Online recording of load dimensions also allows better use to be made of the cargo space. This benefits the consigner, the carrier and the environment”, explained the jury.
What makes the IFOY Award so special
The jury for the IFOY Award, consisting of 29 chief editors of international trade media from different continents, as well as scientific experts, such as the Fraunhofer IML, Helmut Schmidt University, the Technical University of Munich and TU Dresden, nominated three to five solutions per category. The three-part audit focused on the IFOY Test Days, which took place in Hanover in March. The 15 products and solutions selected by the jury underwent a week of practical testing to evaluate a wide range of factors, including innovation and technology, ergonomics and handling, and cost-effectiveness and sustainability.

CARGOMETER – freight dimensioning on the fly
CARGOMETER offers “on-the-fly” freight dimensioning on moving forklifts: the dimensions, weight and barcode (2D codes) of packages are recorded as they pass through the loading gate and are digitally transferred to the customer’s system. In contrast to stationary or manual dimensioning, this allows work to continue uninterrupted.
