How does “Cargo Volume Scanning” work at KLM Cargo at Schiphol airport?
“Volume scanning 2.0 is a dynamic way of scanning (no delay in cargo acceptance), scans 3d “water volume” (empty spaces are removed in calculation) and it’s integrated and optimized for our current tooling.”
Robin van der Lubbe, KLM Cargo
“Volume is scanned upon acceptance and deviations are being corrected to improve the handling process of KLM Cargo.”
Irwin Budding, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
Brief history of the successful project implementation
“Cargometer and Air France KLM Cargo joined forces three years ago. All the way through the corona era Cargometer’s volume scan solution was tested, used and invested in. Now it’s implemented in KLM Cargo’s warehouse freight building.”
Irwin Budding, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
“And it’s not just an innovative idea, it’s has been implemented at our cargo warehouse at hub Amsterdam and it has already been proven to be a great success.”
Robin van der Lubbe, KLM Cargo
